Maiori takes its name from the river “Reghinna Maior” and has beautiful monuments such as The Castle, the old Norman Tower and the beautiful tiled dome of Saint Maria a Mare.

Maiori is a charming popular seaside resort. It has the longest unbroken stretch of beach on the Amalfi coast, and boasts a picturesque promenade which is beautiful to walk along, especially while watching the sun set.

The heart of Maiori is the main high street “corso Reginna” which is lined with elegant buildings where you will find many shops, bars and superb restaurants which offer some of the finest cuisine of the coast. The Amalfi Coast is famous for its “Limoncello” drink, and Maiori is rumoured to produce some of the best available, using the lemons from the beautiful local lemon groves that are found throughout the town. Maiori boasts the best hotels of the area that offer uninterrupted views of the coastline. The famous Italian film director, Roberto Rosellini, fell in love with the beauty of Maiori and produced many of his films here.
